CONCEPT Concha Jerez made a new tribute to Joseph Kosuth in this piece, specifically to his work “One and three chairs”, a work in which both the use of chairs and the use of the number three have a considerable specific weight. The author’s reflective work on his process of evolution in artistic practice. This is how one of the elements of the piece states the following phases of the work: the passage to the concept, the passage to the work in situ and the passage to the open score.
DESCRIPTION The piece consists of: a folding music stand with a book in which the author developed an open score based on a letter received from the Ministry of Culture denying her a help she had requested. Five transparent smoke-coloured glasses intervened by variations of this score placed on the floor. And a black chair with four transparent glass panels in which the title of the piece appears.
EXHIBITIONS This piece has its origin in the installation entitled “RETORNO A LA MEMORIA” which was made in 1983 in the Hall of the Caja de Ahorros de Navarra in Pamplona.
