CONCEPT | Aesthetic recovery of all the pages of a newspaper, whose name -La Vanguardia-, has specific connotations for art, carried out (with a certain irony) through a procedure glorified in the eighties as was the painting. |
DESCRIPTION | This work is made up of eight modules that include 39 page retrievals from the newspaper (5 in each module), which are based on the structural analysis of the 76 pages of the copy of La Vanguardia used to produce them. |
ASSEMBLY | Each of the eight modules must first be assembled between two transparent methacrylates. In the space, the modules should be hung from the ceiling and the eight should be placed in a row as in the installation carried out in ESPACIO B5-125 at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. |
HISTORY | This installation was made for the ESPACIO B5-125 of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in February 1981. It was presented as an interrelationship of two blocks of aesthetics that occur without specific intention in everyday life: those issued by any newspaper and those issued by an everyday space which, in this case, was the B5-125. |
EXHIBITIONS | In 1982 it was presented in a large exhibition on Artist’s Books in the rooms of the Biblioteca Nacional curated by Cathy Coleman. |
